Real Madrid are reportedly using Vinicius Jr. to tempt Paris Saint-Germain into selling Neymar to them instead of arch-rivals, Barcelona, a report has said.
Both Real and Barcelona are fighting to bring the Brazilian back to Spain before the European transfer window closes on September 2.
The 27-year-old has made it clear he want s to leave the Parc des Princes this summer for a return to La Liga.
But it has been suggested that Neymar prefers to return to Catalonia, than a transfer to the Bernabeu, but despite that, Real are hoping to secure his signature.
According to Spanish newspaper, El Confidencial, the Los Blancos are trying to use Vinicius to get a deal over the line ahead of the league champions.
Vinicius enjoyed an impressive first campaign at the Bernabeu last season.
The teenager was one of the shining lights amid Real’s nightmarish campaign, in which two managers, Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari lost their jobs.
The report further said Real coach, Zinedine Zidane, is not a fan of the former Santos star, however, the club’s hierarchy are hoping Neymar’s compatriot, will be accepted as part of the deal with £90 million cash.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Johnson, a French football expert, has suggested that Neymar could end up staying at PSG this summer, if the club consider all offer as not being good enough for him.
“At this moment in time I’m not sure I can see him going to either [Barcelona or Real Madrid] before the end of the transfer window,” Johnson said on Sky Sports News.
“I think he may well end up staying in Paris by default.
“Barcelona have left it very late to pull off a transfer of this size given their financial problem.
“Real Madrid have never really been as set on bringing Neymar in as Barcelona have.
“So at this moment in time I think it looks more likely that he stays in Paris.”
