A 48-year-old man, Peter Okeke, has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing seven Automated Teller Machine, ATM, cards, and a cash sum of fifty-four thousand naira (N54, 000) belonging to one Taiwo Busayo.
According to the police prosecutor, simply identified as Peter, the defendant committed the offence on September 13, 2017 at Surulere area of Lagos state. He said that the offence contravened and punishable under section 285 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos state of Nigeria, 2011.
One of the counts charge reads: “that you Peter Okeke ‘m’ and others now at large, on the same date, time and place, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did steal cash sum of fifty-four thousand naira (N54, 000.00) and seven (7) ATM cards property of one Taiwo Busayo ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.”
Okeke pleaded not the guilty to the two counts charge of stealing leveled against him.
Presiding magistrate, Y.O Aje Afunwa granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum.
The case was adjourned till November 6, 2017.
