By Adebayo Williams A man, Ezekiel Igbokwe, was shocked when he got home from a business trip to find his wife having sex with a stranger on their matrimonial bed. Angry, he had seized a machete from the toilet and launched an attack on the man slashing his hand and neck. The stranger, Victor Olatundun, was said to have died on the way to the hospital. The offence was committed on 27 July at the couple’s home at Peace Lodge, Itura Street, Awa Ijebu, Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State around 12 am. Igbokwe, 32, said he was born in Ago Iwoye, Ogun State and was a dealer in electronics. He claimed never to have seen Olatundun before that night and never suspected his wife was having an affair. His wife, Juliet, said she suspected she had been charmed by the deceased as she could not remember the events that led to them being in the bed together. She said Olatundun had been her snuff supplier for sometime and although he had pressured her for an affair, she had refused to give in. “He had been disturbing me that he wanted to marry me, but I said I was married. “On the day of the incident, I really can’t say if he used a charm on me. All I know is that he called me that he wanted to see me and I told him not to come; he knew my house and when he came, I didn’t know what happened. “He used to come and deliver snuff to me in the house. On the day of the incident, he told me he was coming from somewhere and that it was already late. He wanted to sleep in our place till the next day. He didn’t know that my husband was away. He tried to sleep with me, but later he didn’t,” she said. Juliet lamented her husband’s irresponsibility to the family. She said their marriage had been tainted with fights and quarrels and he usually left home for months after such events.
