An American man identified as Thomas Macias, has died of coronavirus, after attending a family burial.
He called himself an “idiot” for breaking the social distancing protocol, then died of the disease the following day.
Macias, 51, died on June 21, just a day after he lamented his decision to attend the family event, Riverside County health officials confirmed COVID-19 as his cause of death to NBC News.
The man from Riverside County in California, after attending the family function, infected at least 12 people, and took to his Facebook to lament how bad he felt for breaking the rule.

“Some of you may know, but most don’t. I fucked up and went out a couple of weeks ago and I contracted the corona virus,” he posting on the social media platform.
“Because of my stupidity I put my mom and sisters and my family’s health in jeopardy. This has been a very painful experience.

“This is no joke. If you have to go out wear a mask and practice social distancing. Don’t be a fucking idiot like me.’
“Hopefully with God’s help. I’ll be able to survive this.”
But he died the following day.
He suffered from diabetes and was overweight. He strictly adhered to social distancing guidelines since March, when governor of California, Gavin Newsom, announced new lockdown rules to combat the virus spread.
However, he decided to attend the event after the governor announced plans to begin easing distancing regulations in June.
According to NBC News, Macias’ condition deteriorated rapidly on June 21, and he was rushed to hospital.
He was put on a ventilator between 6.00pm and 7.00pm that evening, and died two hours later.
It was also reported that his friend who attended the party and had contact with Macias, later said he tested positive for the virus.
He took the test on June 16 and received a positive result two days later.
