Manchester United duo of Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial, have reportedly suffered hamstring and thigh injuries respectively.
Shaw was replaced in the first half of United’s 1-2 home defeat to Crystal Palace over the weekend at Old Trafford, and could be out for a month, according to talkSPORT.
Ashley Young came on to take the place of the England International.
It means the left back would miss six games for the Red Devils, which are against Southampton, Leicester City, West Ham, Arsenal, Liverpool and Norwich.
United coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, was initially hopeful the injury was not too serious, so he would play against the Saints this weekend.
Solskjaer said after the game on Saturday: “We will do the scans tomorrow, but he felt something in his hamstring.
“Hopefully he won’t be too bad and will be back for Southampton.”
Meanwhile, Martial is also said to be a doubt for the trip to Southampton this weekend. He was said to have sustained a thigh problem in the Old Trafford defeat to Palace, which could potentially hamper Alexis Sanchez’s proposed move to Inter Milan.
The Frenchman walked off with a problem on Saturday, shortly before the full-time whistle.
