Manchester United bounced back from last weekend’s defeat to Bournemouth as they beat Brighton and Hove Albion 3-1 in Sunday’s Premier League game at Old Trafford.
Goals from Andreas Pereira, Marcus Rashford and an own goal by Davy Propper, saw United return to winning ways in the league.
Brighton skipper Lewis Dunk reduced the deficit during his side’s good spell in the game.
With the win, United climb to seventh on 16 points with Brighton occupying 11th with 15 points.
United took the lead in the 17th minute through Pereira whose shot took a huge deflection off Dale Stephens on the way in.
Just two minutes later, United doubled their lead as McTominay reacted quickest to a loose ball from a Fred free-kick, bundling it over the line via a touch by Propper.
Brighton pulled a goal back on 64 minutes through Dunk who got himself free and rose highest to head home Pascal Gross’s corner.
United replied instantly on 66 minutesas Anthony Martial raced on to Fred’s pass and picked out an unmarked Rashford who slams the ball in off the crossbar.
In another game played on Sunday, Wolverhampton Wanderers survived a late scare to beat Aston Villa 2-1.
