A 48-year-old man, Musiliu Abdul, has told a customary court sitting at Igando, a suburb of Lagos, that his wife, Bisola, starves him of sex.
Abdul, asked the court to dissolve their 7-year-old union because he no longer understand his wife.
“My wife starves me of sex. She does not allow me to touch her, let alone make love to her. She even accused me of sending assassins after her. The police later arrested me for what I did not do,” Abdul said.
The petitioner also accused his estranged wife of leasing his house without his consent, and chasing away his security guard, a development he did not support.
But the respondent, 47-year-old Bisola, told the court that she received death threats from unknown persons, alleging that her husband was the brain behind it.
Bisola said she had never denied her husband of sex because “he does it with me whenever he wants.”
On the rental of the apartment, Bisola said she did no wrong since the house was willed to her daughter.
She, however, pleaded with the court to save her marriage by not granting her husband’s request. Bisola said she was still interested in the marriage.
Having listened to the parties, the court president Mr. R. I. Adeyeri, held that they were no longer husband and wife.
He dissolved the union, urging them to go their separate ways.
