NCDC Confirms 338 New COVID-19 Cases As Nigeria’s Toll Rises To 5,959

A total of 338 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has been confirmed in Nigeria, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed late Sunday.

In a post on its Twitter handle, the centre said 177 of the cases were recorded in Lagos State, 64 in Kano State, 21 in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), 16 in Rivers State, 14 in Plateau State, 11 in Oyo State, nine in Katsina State and four in Jigawa and Kaduna states respectively.

Three cases each were recorded in Abia, Bauchi and Borno states, two each in Gombe, Akwa Ibom and Delta states, and one in Ondo, Kebbi and Sokoto states respectively.

Six new deaths were also reported, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 182.

This latest figure brings the number of confirmed Coronavirus cases in Nigeria to 5,959, with the virus spreading to 34 states and the FCT.
