NCDC Confirms 457 New COVID-19 Cases, Nigeria’s Toll Now 44,890

A total of 457 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has been confirmed in Nigeria, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed late Wednesday.

In a post on its Twitter handle, the centre said 137 of the cases were recorded in Lagos State, in the 76 in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), 40 in Plateau State, 35 in Rivers State, 34 in Enugu State, 25 in Oyo State, 23 in Abia State, 12 in Delta State and 11 each in Edo and Ebonyi states.

Ten cases each were recorded in Cross River and Kwara states, nine in Kaduna State, seven in Anambra State, five in Ogun State, three each in Imo and Bauchi states, two each in Osun and Nasarawa states and one in Kano and Ekiti states respectively.

Seventeen new deaths were also reported, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 927.

These latest cases bring the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Nigeria to 44,890, with the virus spreading to all 36 states and the FCT.

Below is a breakdown of the confirmed cases in the various states, according to the NCDC.
