Nigeria has qualified for the final of this year’s West Africa Football Union, WAFU, Cup after defeating Benin Republic 1-0 on Thursday. Rabiu Ali scored the only goal of the encounter against their 10-man opponents. The Super Eagles grabbed their goal in the first 11 minutes of the encounter. Benin’s chances of recovering was dealt a blow when Koukpo Marcellin was handed his marching orders in the 33rd minute. Nigeria will, on Sunday, now face the winner of the other semi-final tie between Ghana and Niger Republic.
