Nigerians Blast Cynthia Morgan For ‘Lying’ As Contract With Jude Okoye Is Published

Several Nigerians have blasted Cynthia Morgan, an afro reggae singer, for allegedly deceiving them and seeking their empathy after her contract with Northside Entertainment, owned by Jude Okoye, the elder brother of the defunct P-Square twins, was published online.

Morgan had in an Instagram live interview in Upfront With Sandra on Sunday alleged that she was ripped off her entitlements and her stage name – which is her real name – after signing a music agreement/contract with Northside Entertainment.

She claimed that she did not read the contract before signing and relocated to Benin City, her home town, due to medical issues, adding that she fell into depression after her resources drained.

Okoye in an interview with entertainer Tunde Ednut the following day denied the allegations levelled against him, saying that Morgan – who now goes by the stage name Madrina – was given the free hand to express and decide her creative content.

The renowned music producer and talent manager also said at no time did he stop the embattled Morgan from using her original stage name, adding that it was the artist who breached the contract but he decided not to escalate issues further.

He also promised to release copies of the contract to Ednut.

Okoye seems to have fulfilled his promise as Ednut on Tuesday published what he said was the contract agreement between Morgan and Northside Entertainment.

Morgan and Okoye, according to the published document, went into music and/or entertainment agreement in October 2013.


Several Nigerians took to Twitter to lambast Morgan for purportedly deceiving them upon seeing the published contract, insisting that the agreement stipulated a 50-50 share between her and the company.

Some, however, said they still stand by the account narrated by the artiste.
