Nigeria’s COVID-19 Toll Exceeds 45,000 As NCDC Confirms 354 New Cases

A total of 354 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has been confirmed in Nigeria, thereby increasing the toll to over 45,000, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed late Thursday.

In a post on its Twitter handle, the centre said 78 of the cases were recorded in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), 76 in Lagos State, 23 in Kaduna State, 19 in Ebonyi State, 18 in Oyo State, 17 each in Nasarawa and Rivers states, 16 in Delta State and 15 in Kwara State.

Akwa Ibom recorded 13 cases, 12 each in Edo and Ogun states, 11 in Plateau State, nine in Kano State and six in Bauchi, Borno and Ekiti states respectively.

Three new deaths were also reported, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 930.

These latest cases bring the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Nigeria to 45,244, with the virus spreading to all 36 states and the FCT.

Below is a breakdown of the confirmed cases in the various states, according to the NCDC.
