The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has condemned the killing of members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (MIN), led by Ibrahim Elzakzaky. Labour said it was wrong for the military to shoot at unarmed citizens. NLC chastised the sect for blocking the road and threatening the life of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai. In a statement released by its factional president, Ayuba Wabba, NLC said there was no room for extra-judicial killings lamenting that the military and the sect were clashing too frequently. Wabba said the military and the sect had clashed in 2014 with the leaders’ sons losing their lives. He said it was unwise for a country presently struggling to combat terrorism to engage in such unnecessary violence. He commiserated with the families of the victims and called on the Federal Government to investigate the root of the crises.
