North-East Governors Meet Over Insecurity, Infrastructure 

Governors of the six North Eastern states; Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe; on Saturday held a meeting in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, to discuss insecurity and infrastructure in the region.

The region has battled Boko Haram for years, bringing a halt to the development of infrastructure and economy of the area.

The governors deliberated on matters bordering on security, oil exploration, environment, agriculture, and decayed infrastructure.

Isa Gusau, spokesman for Babagana Zulum, Governor of Borno State, said Mohammed Alkali, Managing Director of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), and Mele Kyari, Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), were also in attendance.
