Notorious B.I.G, Whitney Houston, Nominated For Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Late rapper, Notorious BIG and late R and B star, Whitney Houston, are among 16 artists nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.

The nominees were announced by Rock and Roll on Tuesday.
Rounding out the ballot are Todd Rundgren, Depeche Mode, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, Nine Inch Nails, Judas Priest, Kraftwerk and MC5, all of whom have been nominated at least once before.
Influential German electronic group Kraftwerk has received the most previous nominations, having been on the Rock Hall ballot for induction five times previously.

Artists need to have released their first “commercial recording” at least 25 years ago to be eligible.
Starting on Tuesday and continuing through January  10, 2020, at 11:59 p.m., fans can vote for their favorite nominees at RockHall.com, via Google by searching “Rock Hall Fan Vote” or any nominee name, or at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame museum in Cleveland.
The five artists with the most votes will make up a “fans’ ballot” that will be counted along with the voting committee’s ballots.

The 2020 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, presented by Klipsch Audio, will be held at Public Auditorium in Cleveland on May 2, 2020.
On March 9,1997, Notorious B.I.G., real name, Christopher Wallace, was murdered by an unknown assailant in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles.
Houston died in 2012 as a result of drowning due to coronary artery disease and cocaine intoxication.
