The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense, NSCDC, Lagos State command, has deployed about 2,000 personnel to secure venues of the on-going National Examination Council, NECO examinations
Tajudeen Balogun, NSCDC Lagos state commandant made this known on Wednesday while monitoring the examination in some Lagos schools, noting that the purpose was to ensure a conducive environment for the students and supervisors.
“The officers are to monitor the activities in the examination halls and ensure no mercenary is allowed into the hall.
“They are to give report to the command at the end of the exercise, and we shall submit same to zonal Assistant Commandant General who will in turn submit to the Commandant General.
“The major thing is for the examination to be conducted in a conducive atmosphere without any hitches,” he said.
Third and final year students in senior secondary levels are presently writing the 2017 NECO June/July Senior School Certificate Examination, SSCE.
Balogun said there had been no negative issues against students and his personnel in all the schools he had visited so far.
Some of the schools visited include Babs Fafunwa Millennium Senior Grammar School, Ojodu and Oke-Ira Senior Grammar School, Ojodu.
