By Bola Kougbe Barack Obama, former US President, has criticized incumbent President Donald Trump’s immigration ban. Obama called it discriminatory. In a statement made by Kevin Lewis, spokesperson for Obama, Monday, the former leader expressed his disagreement with Trump’s order describing it as a biased move. “The (former) President fundamentally disagrees with the notion of discriminating against individuals because of their faith or religion,” CNN quoted Lewis as saying. Lewis added that Obama perceived the protests as “exactly what we expect to see when American values are at stake.” Trump had on Friday banned seven Muslim-majority countries including, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Sudan, Yemen, Syria and Somalia from entering the United States for the next 90 days and suspended the admission of all refugees.
