Governor Akeredolu becomes the fifth state governor to have contracted COVID-19 after Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna State) and Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia State).
Governors Makinde, Mohammed and El-Rufai have since recovered and been discharged while Ikpeazu is still in isolation.
