A pastor in Benin, the Edo State capital, has been arrested for planting explosives in the auditorium of the Christ Chosen Church of God in January. The pastor, Abel Eku, was said to have been arrested after the explosives were discovered prior to the church’s international conference.
Eku, 57, said he was seeking revenge for his dismissal from the church after 25 years of service due to his marital problems. He said he regretted his actions which led him to reveal the location of the explosives to some officials of the church. He said the bomb was just to scare the church members and elders.
