Policeman Arrested After Lover Dies During Sex Romp In Ekiti

The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested a man suspected to be a police officer after a woman was found dead in her room following an alleged sex romp between them.

According to sources, the suspect is believed to be a policeman serving in Lagos and had visited the deceased on Wednesday in her apartment on Ayese Street, Bawa Estate in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

It was learnt that the woman was found dead in her room on Thursday morning, the Punch reports.

Sunday Abutu, the Public Relations Officer of the Ekiti State Police Command, confirmed the death of the woman as well as the arrest of the suspect.

He said the command is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“The woman died inside her room. One of her neighbours reported the case at the Oke Ila Divisional Police Station, Ado Ekiti, and policemen swung into action.

“Our detectives immediately visited the house and saw the lifeless body of the woman. The corpse has been evacuated and taken to the morgue of the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti,” he said.

The police spokesperson, however, declined to identify the suspect, saying the man’s profession will be disclosed after the completion of the investigation.

“We have yet to know whether he is a policeman or not. Let us wait for the outcome of our investigation, which will reveal all that,” Abutu said.
