Premier League: Leicester Beat Crystal Palace, Climb To Third Position
Leicester City defeated Crystal Palace 2-0 to climb to third on the log in Sunday’s Premier League fixture at Selhurst Park.
Second-half goals from Caglar Soyuncu and Jamie Vardy earned Leicester back-to-back Premier League wins, after their 9-0 thrashing of Southampton.
Turkish international, Soyuncu scored his first goal for the club in the 57th minute after he stooped down low to head James Maddison’s corner kick beyond Palace’s goalkeeper, Vicente Guaita.
And with two minutes from time, Vardy finished off with a left-footed strike after an exchange of passes with Demarai Gray.
The goal was Vardy’s 10th in the league for the season and Leicester’s seventh win in nine games.
The Foxes are third on 23 points, same points as fourth-placed Chelsea, but are ahead on superior goals difference.
Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, was in action for Leicester while Kelechi Iheanacho was once again benched.
