The Obafemi Awolowo Hall in the University of Ibadan has been attacked by armed robbers.
Armed men, numbering about 10, had raided the female hall of residence in the early hours of Friday, carting away phones, laptops and other valuables.
A report says the hall porters had carried out an inspection around 11pm on Friday before the incident. Unsuspecting students had reportedly opened their doors when they heard knocks early Friday morning thinking the porters had returned another round of checks.
About five students are said to have sustained injuries.
A campus journalist told TheCable that the robbers had left before the security unit, popularly called Abefele, arrived the scene.
