Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers, has said Liverpool are in a great position to win the Premier League for the first time, but insists the 13-point gap could go very quickly.
The Reds smashed Rodgers’ side 4-0 away on Boxing Day to move further clear at the top of the table.
Following the impressive victory, which was inspired by goals from Roberto Firmino, James Milner and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, said he has no doubt the league title was heading to Anfield.
Rodgers, a former Liverpool boss, warned that the league leaders will be hard to displace, but warned the European champions against complacency.
“They have a great cushion but that can go very quickly,” Rodgers said following Thursday’s 4-0 defeat.
“They have the power and strength and now the big thing is the confidence. Having won the Champions League, Club World Cup and Super Cup, they have the feeling and the squad is very strong. They will be hard to shift in the second part of the season.”
Defending champions, Manchester City, will attempt to reduce the gap to 11 points on Friday, when they visit Wolves.
