Senator Bukola Saraki, the Senate President, and his deputy, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, have both congratulated Nigerian workers on the occasion of the 2019 May Day celebration.
Writing via separate posts on Twitter, the Senate President and Deputy Senate President hailed the contribution of Nigerian workers, noting that they play vital roles towards the socio-economic development of the country.
Senator Saraki tweeted: “Today, I salute Nigerian workers, who are an integral part of the fabric that makes up our society, for their tireless contributions to the socio-economic development of our nation.”
In his own message of solidarity, Senator Ekweremadu said: “I duff the hat to Nigerian workers. I salute your industry, sacrifice, resilience, and patriotism. You’re the pivots and pillars of nation building, happy May Day.”
May 1 is celebrated globally as May Day, also known as International Workers’ Day or Labour Day in countries across the world.
