Sierra Leone Didn’t Appoint Nigerian Head Of COVID-19 Task Force – Source

Dr. Dunstan Spencer, former director of International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan, has said the news of the appointment of Dr Olaoluwa Adejayan, a Nigerian medical doctor, as head of the Sierra Leone COVID-19 Task Force is false.

Spencer, who is elder brother of Julius Spencer, Sierra Leone’s former Minister of Information and Broadcasting, said this in a chat with Newsbreak.

Reports had said Adejayan’s appointment was contained in a letter addressed to President Muhammadu Buhari by Julius Maada Bio, President of Sierra Leone.

Adejayan was said to have been described as the best foreign medical practitioner in the country by Sierra Leonean authorities.
