South Africa Deny Nigeria AFCON Defence

The national football team of South Africa Wednesday denied their counterparts from Nigeria a chance of defending the African Cup of Nations, AFCON trophy, which they won in 2013 as the visitors played out a 2-2 draw in one of qualifying matches decided at the Akwa Ibom State International Stadium, Nigeria.

Tokelo Rantie scored a brace for the South Africans, while Sone Aluko scored Nigerias goals. Congo defeated Sudan 1-0 to join South Africa as the second Group A representative.
