Professor Chris Bode, Chief Medical Director of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), has appealed to Nigerians to stop going abroad for medical treatment.
Bode said the hospital has the same capacity as the foreign ones.
The LUTH CMD said this during a visit by the Rotary Club of Ogun and Lagos States to the hospital, to which they donated a playing court to the children ward.
He said the hospital is known for its excellent medical services.
He said: “LUTH that was known for strike before is stabilized with committed and dedicated staff. Currently, we are proud of equipment which can compete with other hospitals locally and abroad.
“That is why we are telling Nigerians not to go abroad for their health challenges again. For instance, we have a cancer centre that is well equipped, where more than 100 patients are treated daily.”
Jide Akeredolu, the District Governor, Rotary International District 9112, stated that the club is ready to offer humanitarian services to Nigerians through the hospital.
