Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho, has been ruled out for up to six months. Uzoho tore his ligament during Sunday’s international friendly against Brazil in Singapore.
The Omonia of Cyprus goaltender, who is on loan from Spanish club, Deportivo La Coruña, was very impressive before his injury.
Nigerian goalkeeper was in superb form until he was substituted in the game, which ended 1-1.
He landed awkwardly on his knee in the 61st minute, after making a superb save earlier.
The Eagles shot stopper was in pain despite receiving treatment, and was taken off on a stretcher.
The injury is a huge blow for Uzoho, who had lost his spot at the African Cup of Nations in Egypt toDaniel Akpeyi.
He had been making efforts to take back the position, though he kept in goal for Nigeria in the third place match against Tunisia at the tournament.
Uzoho had taken to his twitter handle to thank all his fans, promising to bounce back strong.
