Supreme Court Affirms Obaseki’s Election

The Supreme Court has affirmed the election of Godwin Obaseki as governor of Edo state.  Walter Onnoghen, chief justice of Nigeria, alongside six other justices, gave the unanimous judgement on Monday. The panel consequently dismissed the appeal filed by Osagie Eze-Iyamu, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the election. The justices said the appeal lacked merit and promised to give reasons for their decision on July 24, 2017. T
