Tottenham Hotspur have agreed with Olympic Lyonnais to pay £65 million for midfielder, Tanguy Ndombele, a report says.
According to UK-based newspaper, Daily Express, the French international could undergo medical at Spurs before the end of the week.
Jean-Michel Aulas, Lyon president, spoke about the player’s request to leave on Monday, but noted that nothing was confirmed yet.
The North London club have had their earlier bid do £40 million bid rejected, with the French club asking for around £70 million for the 22-year-old highly- rated player.
Ndombele had been linked for months with a host of European giants, including Real Madrid, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
But the report says he now seems to be heading to join the 2019 Champions League finalists.
The report also said Tottenham, who have not been active in the transfer window since January 2018 when they signed Lucas Moura, were able to finance the deal through their exploits in the European elite competition last season.
Other reports indicate that there ate only minor details left to be ironed out in the deal for the French international, who himself had expressed eagerness to join the Premier League side.
Ndombele has been regarded as a fitting replacement for Moussa Dembele, who left the club in January for the Chinese Super League.
