U-20: Falconets Beat Tanzania In World Cup Qualifier

Nigeria’s U-20 women’s football team, the Falconets, thrashed their Tanzanian counterparts 3-0 in a 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier in Benin City on Saturday.

Lilian Tule opened the scoring for Nigeria in the 22nd minute from a freekick, while Rasheedat Ajibade doubled the scoreline in the 52nd minute. Ajibade then netted her second and Nigeria’s third in the 57th minute for a convincing victory.

The win gives coach Christopher Danjuma-led side the advantage going into the First Round Second leg of the qualification for next year’s championship holding in France.

The Tanzanians will host Nigeria in the second leg of the encounter on September 30, in Dar es Salaam.
