A students protest has forced authorities at the University of Ibadan, UI, to shift examination earlier fixed for June and shut the institution. The students were aggrieved over alleged insensitivity by the school management, hence their demonstration. The school authorities responded through Olatunji Oladejo, the universitys director of communications and publication, announcing the students vacate the campus. The university of Ibadan, in its wisdom, has decided to shift the examination earlier scheduled for June to July 2017, Oladejo said.
He said that undergraduate students are to resume on July 17, while the postgraduate students would continue to stay on campus for their research activities.
Oladejo said the decision was taken after the Universitys senate emergency meeting, which looked into the circumstances surrounding the development.
He added the closure was to avert a crisis.
