Manchester United will hold formal talks with Juventus on Tuesday over a possible transfer for French midfielder Paul Pogba. United are expected to open with an offer of around £86million for the France international though Juventus maintain he is not for sale. The 23-year-old has tried to maintain a diplomatic stance over what his next move would be but is open to a move to Old Trafford with wages already outlined by his agent Mino Raiola at £11million a year.
With Pogba saying he would be willing to speak with United coach Jose Mourinho, it is possible a deal is agreed to take the player back to England.
“[United] were my first family, and if [Jose] Mourinho called me, I’d see [what he wanted].
“[Madrid] are European champions, have won the Champions League and are a great club.
“Juventus are my family, I’m happy when I wear this shirt, they’re who I play for and I feel good with them.
“When I wear the Juventus shirt, I’m happy playing football and doing what I’ve wanted since I was a child.,” he said.
His agent Mino Raiola, who is also Mourinho’s agent, has dismissed speculations he met with United officials about a transfer for his client.
