Yahaya Bello, governor of Kogi State, has leapt to the defence of President Muhammadu Buhari, over an editorial published by The PUNCH newspaper on Wednesday, in which it accused him of running the country like a dictator.
The foremost newspaper said it will henceforth refer to Buhari as “major-general, instead of president.
Bello speaking in a video posted by Vanguard, also addressed the situation that surrounded the conduct of the 2019 gubernatorial election in the state, in which he was returned elected.
The election, according to several eyewitness accounts, including local and foreign observers, was marred by violence and ballot box snatching incidences.

However, the governor insisted that the result of the election was a reflection of the will of the people of the state.
