A wedding guest was shot dead on Olurinde Street, Orile Agege area of Lagos on Sunday. Reports say the guest, unnamed, had been struck by a bullet fired by an aide of the National Union of Road Transport Workers' Chairman, Tajudeen Agbede. The aide had been scaring off hoodlums who were demanding money from Agbede before a stray bullet hit the guest.
Punch Metro reports that the bride is the younger sister of the personal assistant of Agbede, which attracted top shots from the union.
Policemen from the Elere division removed the corpse and deposited it in a mortuary.
Agbede has denied knowledge of the killing.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmos, said the matter was under investigation and the culprits will be brought to book.
