The Ondo State Police Command has explained why it did not disperse the #RevolutionNow protesters in the Ore area of the state.
Members of the movement had staged a protest on Wednesday with policemen watching from a distance. They carried placards and chanted revolutionary songs after which they dispersed and went home.
Tee-Leo Ikoro, spokesman of the police in the state, said the protesters were not violent so it was unnecessary to disperse them.
He stated that the right to organisation is guaranteed in the Nigeria Constitution.
- However, the protests by the movement were dispersed in Lagos and Abuja with the police and other security operatives arresting some members.
